About Me

I am now mainly using Model Mayhem to find talent. For a more complete view of my work, please go to my Instagram. Only clothed images are posted there. If we will be working on shoots with nudity, I will email samples of that work.

[b]SUMMARY

I am a highly experienced photographer who travels extensively in the US and internationally.

My current focus is fashion, beauty, model portfolio work, and artistic concepts. I am very versatile and love to do things ranging from steampunk to very classical images. I shoot tasteful, classical and beautiful glamour and boudoir on request.

I use professional equipment (Sony A7R IV mirrorless and Profoto lights) and am known for very detailed and quality finishing work through the latest Photoshop products. I am trained in graphic design and combine my photographic work with digital painting and compositing. So much of my work is a cross of photography and art. I love more complex and visually intriguing creations. I really enjoy dramatic editorial images or those that convey a story or mood.

My wife is a make up artist and stylist. So we work as a team when I am shooting locally or when she travels with me. If she cannot join me, I have make up artists, stylists and designers I work with.

I am a perfectionist so concepts and shoots are planned in great detail prior to the shoot. So if you work with me expect a good amount of discussion in advance.

Rate: Quoted based on shoot requirements and use.

Trade: On request for concepts I am interested in.

MY SOURCES OF INSPIRATION

I have been greatly inspired and influenced by renaissance masters such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo and the use of chiaroscuro (lights and darks). One purpose of my trip to Italy was to further study their work. One can see their influence in many of my images which use a lot of dramatic shadows and color.

For 1930's and 1940's genre photography, the work of George Hurrell shaped how I shoot those portraits. Olivia De Berardinis and Alberto Vargas are my go-to references when I work on pinups.

Studying the work of Annie Liebovitz has helped me look at light in a different way. And photographers such as Ellen von Unwerth have shown me the power of subtle sensuality behind some image concepts.

Great locations have sometimes gotten my creative juices flowing. During a shoot, a model who really “gets” the concept and knows how to “be” the character creates tremendous chemistry and inspiration.

I look forward to hearing from you.
