I am a beginning portrait photographer seeking to expand my skill set, broaden my horizons and gain more experience. I am hoping to pursue both contemporary portrait sales and try to sell some photos as stock based on experiences gained here.

My style is very natural and laid back - I also tend to be more conservative in my shoots. I don't mind and even enjoy working with accessories and different items and am working on trying to incorporate these items better in my compositions. Stories are also very important to me in my shoots and I will often run with a story-line through an entire shoot, trying to do different poses and expressions to tell the story. One thing I'd like to work on is to consolidate these stories into fewer, stronger photos.

I have a background in social psychology and find expressions and emotions to be fascinating. The formation of emotions over time and the way emotions tend to blend into one another is something I find particularly intriguing. So, naturally, these are themes (and stories) I tend to gravitate towards as a photographer. Too subtle? Maybe. Complex? You bet.
