About Me

(Formerly known as "iiionu" or "Ize Onyu.")

I'm a photographer who loves projects that are sexy. Note that "sexy" does not necessarily mean sexual; the word also means "exciting" or "glamorous." I like projects that look at an apparently unsexy subject from a novel angle that gives it more pop than is typically associated with it (as when a cityscape photo can make an old New England mill town look jazzier than it actually is). But, to be sure, I also like shooting subjects whose visual appeal is enticingly obvious. Other photographers whose styles I appreciate, and that inform mine, are Chas Ray Krider and Helmut Newton.

As I learn more about photography, I'm growing increasingly interested in photos of live models, especially in projects that qualify as glamour, fashion, or sexy (as defined above), and especially projects that aim to evoke a specific mood (whether melancholy or titillation), and in an interesting way. I've entered the world of Model Mayhem to find models with whom to collaborate on such projects. If you want to discuss a possible collaboration, let's talk. I do reserve the right to be choosy, since this is a hobby of mine, and not my source for bread and butter. But I'm nonjudgmental; the worst I'll say in response to a proposal is that a particular project is not for me. With that said, let's talk. It never hurts to ask.

As for compensation, I obviously love to be paid, but am willing to discuss trades, such as TFCD.

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO SHOOT WITH iiionu?

"Working with Isaac is something I look forward to every time! He was one of the first photographers I had the pleasure of working with and he made me feel incredibly comfortable and made the experience so much fun. His techniques and end products are amazing so if you ever get the chance to work with him, TAKE IT!! I promise you will have a great shoot!" --EveAndrews (MM# 3461829)

"iiionu is a photographer working in the realm of retro mystery and elegance. He is very professional and courteous, and he's concerned with the opinion of the model, which is important in the collaborative process of making art. I recommend working with him if you'd like to add a touch of vintage imagery to your portfolio." --Ludella Hahn (MM# 240525)

"When I first showed interest in the business of modeling, I was fortunate enough to have who is now my favorite photographer reach out to me for what was not only my first ever shoot, but outside in the SNOW! He has wonderful ideas, is very easy to get along with, great conversation, but above all, I felt very comfortable with him. I have always enjoyed every photo-shoot with him and love every image I received back (in an efficient manner, no less!). He has been amazing. Highly recommended professional photographer!" -- Hera Lee (MM# 2954588)

"iiionu is a timely, methodical and prepared photographer. I appreciate the opportunity on camera to explore and collaborate in creating images which convey story and emotion. I am confident that iiionu can find the beauty and mystique in any and every woman he photographs"
-Holly Danger (MM# 1940243)

"My first shoot with Isaac was arguably one of my favorite experiences modeling with a local photographer. He was professional, respectful, and competent. I felt very much at ease with him almost immediately. There was plenty of room for me to express my ideas and opinions and move freely, while not having his own creativity hampered. He provided a safe space for the collaborative effort and the images I received from our shoot were lovely. We've shot together a number of times since and I'm thrilled to call him a friend." --Sophia Lucciani (MM# 2878273)

"iiionu is fun to work with and always produces quality photos. I've never been disappointed and always look forward to my shoots with him. " --Kitteninstrings (MM# 1773989)

"Working with iiionu is a pleasure. He offers direction when needed, and knows what he wants. I appreciate his professionalism, and look forward to working with him again in the future." --MG (MM# 716797)

"I cannot say enough good things about Ize! He was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was professional, respectful, focused on making great images, kind and funny! I could not have asked for a better shoot and I would gladly do it again and again. I recommend anyone and everyone to meet and work with this man. You won't regret it!!" --Colette Stone (MM# 2376794)
