About Me

Keifla has more than 18 years experience in the beauty industry. His love for hair and make-up date back to the age of 13 when he began getting paid for his talents doing work for haunted houses, theatrical productions, and even styling his high school classmates for formals. In 2000, Keifla received his Associates Degree in Cosmetology while simultaneously earning a second degree in Fashion Design. Now an internationally recognized Make-Up Artist, Keifla also teaches professional make-up at a national beauty school, all while running his company "If Looks Could Kill Artistry". A freelance hair and make up styling business that specializes in production work for TV, film, video, photo, and runway in addition to his regular in salon clientele.

RAW: Natural Born Artists showcased Keifla’s hair and make up work in 2010 at the then named Se Hotel in Downtown San Diego. Which led him to a nominee for “Make Up Artist of the Year” for the 2010 Rawards held in Hollywood at the iconic “Music Box” theatre. Since then, Keifla’s talents have taken him all over, working with celebrities like Lauren Powers and IFBB Pro Athlete Gina Trochiano. Keifla’s ever growing body of work also include being a national educator for the Australian hair care brand De Lorenzo, two music videos sponsored by Camel Cigarettes, ad campaigns for Matuse, body painting for Anthony Dortch, and a calendar for Emergency Hookers Towing Co.

Keifla’s artistic influences are a direct reflection of his very diverse and culture filled up bringing. Collecting comics and graphic novels while growing up in countries like Japan and the Philippines, Keifla has developed a very fresh and eclectic artistic vision. Add that to his love of cult films and campy B-movies combined with a fascination of macabre and vintage elements of the 1920’s and 1950’s all lead to a signature style all his own.

‘My favorite themes to work with are “Post Apocalyptic Burning Trash Can Future”, “Vintage Macabre”, and “Edgy High Fashion/Avant Garde”! These themes are fun and really let my work come to life!’

Seeing his creativity and visions realized in print, film, and on the runway is one of the main reasons Keifla loves what he does. When his art takes a life of it's own and inspires on lookers is the gratification he gets from creating. The other joy comes from helping his clients see themselves in a new light. Helping them feel confident, sexy, powerful, and beautiful!

When asked what he does for a living his response is ”I create art!” When asked what he does for fun he replies, “I create art!” A true artist…when Keifla isn’t styling hair or faces he is painting, drawing, singing, and/or sewing. His passion, creativity, vision, and attention to detail help Keifla to be an amazing artist whose work is as unique as it is memorable and stunning!
