I used to own my own portrait studio business but hated running a business. Now I mostly work freelance doing commercial/product work, but I still have a passion for fine art portraiture as well as wanting to maintain my portraiture portfolio.
I was educated as an art and cultural historian, receiving my masters degree from the University of London. However, I also minored in photography as an undergraduate student, and worked in various aspects of photography, including retail and assisting, for several years while I learned my photography craft.
My preferred style of shooting portraits is out of the studio with no lights, except the occasionally use of a single speedlight, and I looking to bring out the individual personality of the model in the setting.
