About Me

Clockwork Strange

It’s been eons since I’ve practiced the art of photography, but lately something has been pulling me back with a passion. I’ve been modeling for the past couple of years locally (Tszura, MM#1019009) but my only “photographer” experience thus far has been in college with friends using film. I remember having a wonderful time in the darkroom manipulating, and using a variety of darkroom techniques. As digital is the way to go now due to cost effectiveness/practicality, I sure do have a lot to learn about photo manipulation using the computer! I’m excited about the journey though, and can’t wait to get my hands dirty!

I’m here to have fun, explore, collaborate with fantastic people, and to make some crazy, deep, dark, and beautiful art. I’m not here to wave my tail feathers, and consider myself pretty down to earth, so feel free to approach me with any questions, requests, or ideas you may have about working together. Genres that interest me include: gothic, industrial, nudes, light to mod fetish, retro, and anything that would remind you of Joel-Peter Witkin, David Lynch, or Alejandro Jodorowsky. Because I’m just getting started, I can only offer copies of all the shots collaborated on if we work together. Once I become skilled with editing, I can offer a few edited versions as well, but no matter what, you will get copies of them all. All I ask is that you don’t edit them yourself, and that you credit Clockwork Strange.

Now to why I chose “Clockwork Strange” as my tag. In college I was exposed to the notion of picture taking as moments that steal the soul. At that time, I was more interested in taking photos that could go in the likes of National Geographic, and felt guilty, at times, snapping photos of people immersed in their rituals or cultural practices. I had an internal war with the exchange that lasted a while. Since then, I’ve lightened up, and am more interested in making art. Taking pictures still holds a dual meaning, however, which is where the tag comes in. Taking photos can indeed be seen as stealing moments in time that take life away, but it can also be viewed as breaking the clock, annihilating time, and giving life back by capturing a moment forever so that it can live on. Clockwork Strange embodies that duality.

Come blur the lines of time, and create some Clockwork Strangeness with me………………
