About Me

The end of summer 2010 rolls around and I have worked as a server at the same job for almost 5 years, I get a phone call from my longest friend (met 14 years ago!) and she says "I am strapped for cash and you are going to buy my camera from me, you have no choice." So I buy it off of her, it is a Canon Rebel SLR 35 mml. I look at it, 'its film?' I think to myself, and 'how do I use this big lens?' I walk away confused and she walks away relieved. Really I was grateful, I have always had an interest in photography but never took it seriously, even as a hobby.
So I start carrying it around, the first couple rolls come out fuzzy and blurred. I continue to carry it around, I have photographers in my family and circle of friends but somehow it hadn't crossed my mind to ask any of them about it. Then I run into Ryann Lee, she was at my friends house talking about the same camping trip I am planning on going to that weekend and currently looking for a ride and whaddya know she is looking for a travel buddy. Perfect!
Throughout the trip I find out she is a bona fide photographer and business owner. She starts giving me tips (lessons) and my photos come out great! She takes a look at them and she LOVES them so much she offers me a job, the universe telling me that serving is not serving me any longer. So I made myself fully available as her assistant by quitting, I tell my restaurant family goodbye. I miss them still.
Ryann has taught me so much and I plan on sticking around with her, I want to continue improving my photography skills and eventually purchase my very own camera. She pays me well but, the tips as an experienced server were very impressive. I am learning what my priorities are and having fun with it. The hours as a small (Ryann and I) photography business isn't always consistent. Every once in a while I will have a month off, I find this to be a great opportunity to work on the other side of it, get the perspective of being in front of the lens!
I have already found a few regular artists I love working with as the model and I look forward to discovering more artists to get creative with. I can take direction as well as collaborate with others. I can provide some unique wardrobe pieces. I have received a basic makeup lesson and I can do my own if needed.

*Most of my experience has been artistic.

In my spare time I make jewelry, re-purpose clothing, read & write, various mediums of art (most recent is pen & ink), photography, attend events, parties and community groups in SLC. I don't check this that often, I am open to text message inquiries for paid gigs 8015776825 :)
