I am Magio, a professional photographer base in Santo Domingo,
capital of the Dominican Republic or Hispaniola Island.

For me, being a photographer, taking pictures, being a shutterbug, is not just a job or a profession, not even a career!! To me, taking a single digital or analog frame is like energy for my body, oxygen for the soul! Shooting a frame is similar to a Zen state, peace of mind, total understanding.
Looking at a well crafted photo on a computer monitor or in print I sometimes can feel like Julio Cortazar when he describe listening to Billie Holiday "Like being in bed crying tears of joy" Sometimes looking at a particular photo I do cry from the Joy of being part of such a wonderful creation as the Planet Earth. Thankful that I can photograph this amazing planet, it's inhabit and the natural beauty that is around us 24/7. I love what I do. And what I do, I do with love and passion!! I have being a photographer for over 25 years, and a Professional Photographer for the past 12 years. From the Minolta X-700, to the Nikonos 4 to Bronica ETRS and the Nikon D3s, cameras are great tools and better cameras are better, much better tools, however, with out the photographer input cheap cameras and expensive cameras are just fancy paper weights.

A master photographer, is a combination of great skills, years of experience, insane amount of passion for what You do as a photographer and plenty of hard work. So far so good. I have the passion and working hard is part of my DNA.

During my years as a photographer I have work with many types of individuals. A large percentage of those individuals were a great joy to work with, a few were an amazing experience to photograph and one or two individuals made such an indelible impression on my soul that I will remember them for the rest of my life; to each and every one, THANKS.
