About Me

I've been practicing photography at least semi-professionally for four years now, and I still never really know what to write about my own work -- so I'll go with what I definitely know.

I know I always gravitate towards lifestyle photography: people and their habits, their vices, their idiosyncrasies. I know I've been shooting this way for years now: always handheld, always digital, always spontaneous. I know I like to push boundaries, encourage authenticity, and I'm never really comfortable sitting still for too long.

So I joined this site in hopes that I could break away from my artistic niche, carve out something new. I'd like to start seriously applying for photography grants by the end of this year, considering graduate school options, and all-around making larger bodies of work that may or may not find themselves in a gallery space some day.

Nothing in my mind is quite set in stone yet, other than I'd like to start photographing people in settings a little more pre-meditated than my typical work. I'm always open to collaboration and creative input in all things -- and it goes without saying I wouldn't ever expect any kind of payment for my photography (though I'd always give you prints as a thank you).

So I encourage any aspiring models or fellow photographers to check out my online portfolio. If you see something you like, or don't like, feel free to tell me so. And as project ideas come to my mind, I'll be adding casting calls and posting information below.

What I typically shoot on: Canon A1 for 35mm, Canon 1DS Mark II for Digital.
