Hey. I'm a professional figure sculptor and run a studio in Kalamazoo, Michigan with several apprentices studying with me. I trained at University of Michigan and at a little academy in Western France. I'm also the Model Coordinator for the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, where I was sculpture department head for 4 years.
I typically need to fill 5-6 paying gigs per week for art models (typical drawing and sculpture classes). I also use nude models regularly in my own work, as well as provide references to several other teaching studios and photographers in the area.
Almost all work is nude, pay for classes typically ranges from $10-$15/hr, similar hourly or trade for work for private work. Regular steady gigs as well as recurring spot work.
Don't usually shoot for photo as a final medium, but frequently shoot at the studio as reference for drawing or sculpture work.
Looking for smart, reliable, adventurous models of all body types, usually local to Kalamazoo. Generally prefer a natural or unusual look to slick beauty, but we use all types depending on our needs at the time. For most jobs, must be able to hold a pose for 20 minutes. Acting, yoga, dance, or similar experience is a plus; unusual body types/body art can be a plus. My roster tends to be fairly full, but always interested in meeting new people and exploring new directions in my own work.
