About Me

I'm a newspaper photog new to Columbus, Indiana and working for The Republic. I was the Region 9 photographer of the year in the National Press Photographers Association contest in 2010 after my first full year as a staffer in Gillette, Wyoming. Moved to Columbus to be closer to fam, but my hearts still somewhere else half the time. I specialize in documentary photography, but I enjoy portraiture and I'm hoping to start exploring it further. I've shot a million portraits for news assignments, but I am just tapping in to the model photo genre and am hoping to start pushing it creatively just for fun and I want to keep it that way.

As a newspaper photographer I rarely am allowed to intervene with the scenario, while I'm full aware of what a better shot would be. I'm just hoping to use this as an outlet for those weeks where real life has frustrated me visually and I want to create something.

I'm in to the outdoors, impromptu shoots and road trippin. Need to know more? Just ask. I'm pretty candid.
