Vanessa Glenda is an artist and nomad who lives vicariously through a city’s soul.

She has a visceral need to create and a propensity for storytelling; this is what she does best.

As an image maker and a wordsmith with a deep perception of the human condition, she watches the world intently – her senses starved.

She has an intense and untethered energy which makes her work intimate and affecting. She lends to her craft an acute understanding of light, color and emotion.

Vanessa Glenda is a lover of all things beautiful. This is all she knows. This is all she is. There is only this, and nothing more.

I have always had a natural inclination for what is beautiful. The act of creation is the only way I know how to connect to the rest of the world.

While I have not had any formal education in the arts, I find that I spend the bulk my time mastering my craft through constant practice. I consume books, films, photographs, music, and anything that resonates within me. I have always surrounded myself with things that speak to my heart.

I continue to study and draw inspiration from the works of the great masters. The imagery of Arnold Newman, Mario Testino, David Burnett, Steve McCurry, Vivian Maier, and Gregory Heisler. The narrative of Micheal Moore, Atom Egoyan, Ang Lee, Wes Andersen, The Coen Brothers and Tim Burton. The words of Joan Didion, E.E. Cummings and Anais Nin.
