Shermel Carthan, is an actor, model, and youth motivator who has spent his entire life on stage devoted to his craft as an artist. He has trained classically in acting Shakespeare, Chekov, as well as in the arts of dance and play writing. In 2006, he was awarded a full scholarship to attend California Institute of the Arts. During his summers Carthan, was invited by Jackson State University to teach acing, singing and dance. Shermel successfully completed college in the spring of 2010, with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Arts and acting. Also having completed several independent studies in play writing, critical studies and humanities.
He has performed off-Broad way in New York City with Obie Award winning choreographer and director Ping Chong. He has been featured in American Theater Magazine. He produced his first play ‘Mississippi Got dam’ in Hollywood. Shermel starred in national television commercials for Blackberry Messenger, and the American Music Awards. Today Shermel resides in Los Angeles looking to make a name for himself as a model and actor!
