Theophilus Jamal is a director/cameraman, Second City-trained writer, media educator, film curator, and drummer. His work is informed by finding the "complex simplicity" of his subjects, whether they be in portraits, found photography, or motion pictures.

Jamal has worked both in-front-of and behind the camera, most notably appearing in “Conspiracy?: The Oklahoma City Bombing” as undercover operative turned terrorist Edwin Angeles and as a character in the John Woo-directed video game “Stranglehold”. He has worked as an Assistant Cameraperson for motion pictures and has even managed for several prestigious film festivals (Sundance, South By Southwest, Chicago International Film Festival).

He is currently developing "Smashed!", a narrative film about the trials and tribulations of a fictional Chicago rock band during the post-Grunge apocalypse.
