Miss West Africa Contestant 2011-2012


Folasade Nadia was born in California, in 1992 to an African American mother
and a Nigerian Father.

Folasade has dedicated her young life to empowering and uplifting the
self-esteem of young girls, anti-bullying, suicide and domestic
... violence.

She currently volunteers at local schools and has participated in many
clubs that fight against abuse and violence.

Folasade finds personal strength in her mothers personal drive for education
and to beat all odds. Folasade's mother, the G.I.F.T.S club founder
Mrs. Baros, Oprah Winfrey and Maya Angelo's words of wisdom continues
to be an inspiration in her life.

Folasade Nadia's personal motto comes from her mother, who once said "Stop
focusing on the unfairness of life, focus on living life." Oprah
Winfrey said "Where there is no struggle, there is no strength."
Maya Angelou who once said;"I've learned that no matter what
happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be
better tomorrow. "

It is through the power and lesson of these words that these courageous women have
spoken, Folasade stood up to criticism about her unique look and name
while in school and was able to graduate from high school despite the
adversities that she had to face during her senior year.

Folasade Nadia's platform is helping and inspiring women to regain their self
worth after the affliction of abuse. Upon completing her Masters in
Nursing Aesthetics, Folasade plans to volunteer her nursing service
in countries in need, and to open a non-profit organization that
represents her platform.
