Experience in the Education Industry:
Phil J Wood has been in the industry since 2002 and an instructor since 2004. Phil is a certified level 4 within the Paul Mitchell Schools. This certification process pushes the limits of one’s knowledge on cutting, color, texture & make-up. Phil is now a part of the Advanced Academy Technical Team of Educators for color. He originates from San Jose, California and has been recognized by John Paul Mitchell Systems for his outstanding Presentation & Technical skills in color. He currently resides in Boise, Idaho where he is an Education Leader, Theory Specialist & Color Specialist for the Boise Paul Mitchell School. Phil has implemented several things to take his classes from ordinary to extraordinary; such as creating a Business Plan to help them open their own salon & Haircutting Boot Camp a focused workshop on the principles of haircutting and how to apply them.
Experience in the Beauty Industry:
He has facilitated over 500 photo shoots and created a body of work that demonstrates his ability. He has performed Photo shoots in New York with Vivienne MacKinder a 5 time award winning NAHA stylist & has developed a variety techniques that is vital to any photo shoot. He has taught classes from New York to Los Angeles’s as a national educator. Phil Wood is also an owner of Philip James: a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon where he works behind the chair. This salon is where stylist explores their passion for the industry. With this innovative stylist anything is possible. He guides each member of the team to unlock their true potential while helping them to cultivate a positive & team oriented salon environment.
