Over the years, I have amongst other things, written, drawn, painted, sculpted, carved, worked with precious metals and stones, and thrown pots on a wheel out of clay.  My current medium of choice is one where I use light to create images, not just on your screen, but on paper, as well.  The process of Photography essentially not any different from the other creative media mentioned above.

Whether you see Photography as Art or something else, I recognize it as being so much more than a means of recording what is there in front of you.  Photography can be a powerful medium of expression with which one can share thoughts and emotions.  It lives, breathes, walks alongside me, and talks to me.  It shapes how I see myself, others, and the world I live in.  So, maybe Photography isn't Art.  Perhaps it's something more.

There is sometimes a very meditative, zen-like experience that takes place when I'm shooting.  It doesn't happen when I'm rushing around, trying to shoot every possible angle, or trying to manufacture a shot.  It usually happens when I let what I have in front of me be what it is and I am finally able to see the beauty that is there.
