Winner Pro Division of Model Mayhem's first photo contest.

CAREER:

When I started out shooting pinup in the mid-late 80's there were only a handful of us in the entire US still working in the genre.

One of the highlights of my life was meeting the king of the Hollywood portrait, George Hurrell. I picked up a lot from him during that extended talk we had. The funny thing was that at the time I didn't know who George Hurrell was! I just knew I liked his work. I'm sure I sounded like a fool but he was kind enough to pass on some tips. A couple years later he passed away and it wasn't until I read his obituary that I realized who I'd been talking to. I smack myself on the head every time I think about not knowing who he was at the time, then I remember how lucky I was to meet him.

I've worked extensively with Dita Von Teese, her first website featured a lot of our work together. Later I worked with names like Lana Landis, Heidi Van Horn, Jenny Humphrey and for Atomic Magazine centerfold, Kelley Rarey.

Easy going to work with. I like to work with models, get their ideas, so that the final results are fresh every time and not repeats of something I've already done.

To give you an idea of how I am to work with, several times I've had a model I've worked with for a client's shoot later on call me and hire me herself. I also had one model tell me after a shoot that she's never enjoyed being photographed but she had a lot of fun working with me. (Which made my day!)

I've had my shots used by models for entry into contests like the Maxim Hometown Hotties contest who made it to the finals and semi-finals.

Most interesting use of my work - I was contacted by an agent in the UK who's royal client wanted my shot of Lana Landis with the parasol projected on the side of his castle for his birthday bash.

First Place winner in the Pro category of Model Mayhem's first photo contest.

Featured in August '03 Orange County Register section on the renewed interest in vintage pinup. I had the main shots front and back pages of section. I was told by an editor that is was one of the most popular editions they had ever published.
