About Me

**I have relocated to the Parkersburg, WV/Marietta, OH area**

If you'd like to see recent work and some of the ideas I have rolling around in my head for upcoming shoots, visit my tumblr:

I'm a working writer, photographer and digital media consultant. However my primary interest here is in working with other creative individuals to bring stories to life with images made using the 19th century wet plate collodion process to make ferrotypes/tintypes (images on metal) and ambrotypes (images on glass).

For those of you interested in the photographic craft:
For wet-plate work, I'm basically "making my film" for each individual shot, and I'm using vintage optics (lenses from the 1860s-1870s). Each images takes about 10-15 minutes start to finish, with the model needing to hold still for about 5-10 seconds for the shot. Each image has a very hand-made look and feel to it and can yield an amazing level of detail because of the grainless emulsion of collodion. At the same time, the old portrait lenses I use can create a softness and depth that is unlike anything you'll see that's made with digital equipment or even modern film.

I have a small studio, but with some planning, I can also take my rig on the road to your preferred location, as well.

I'm flexible in my work and am always willing to experiment with new ideas. What I enjoy most is working collaboratively with people who have a creative vision and flair of their own.

If you have an interesting concept for a shoot or simply think what I do would be beneficial to your portfolio please contact me.
