I am trying to diversify my portfolio. I have a lot of TV/Film/Broadway/Wig Making experience...but my resume is kind of light on Editorial work. I am in the union, but I take non-union jobs.

Looking for connections with Photographers who can keep me busy when I'm not working backstage or on a set.

Also looking for models who need their hair done for a shoot - or if you need extensions - "tracks" of hair, or if you want or need something more delicate, I am a wig artisan and can hand tie a custom blended hair piece that you can clip in for shoots....or for everyday life.

Aaron Kinchen is freelance hairdresser and wig maker for stage and film in NYC.

10 years into his career working in the salon business, he made a successful transition into the entertainment industry as a wigmaker. Learning the trade in the wig studio of Tom Watson and Charles LaPointe. Aaron developed his craft alongside artisans working at the highest echelon of the business. After only a couple of months, Aaron’s wigs were being sent to Broadway and the Metropolitan Opera stages, where they are worn by performers and are seen by thousands of audience members every night.

Recent Film and Television hairstyling work includes several episodes of The Nate Berkus Show where he worked on celebrity guests Soledad O’Brien of CNN, Lori Bergamotto of Lucky Magazine, and Elyse Luray of The History Detectives. In Fall of 2011, Aaron was the Key Hairstylist for the upcoming Julianne Moore film, What Maisie Knew. He followed her to work as an additional hairstylist and provided hairpieces for The English Teacher starring Julianne Moore, Greg Kinnear, and Nathan Lane. Prior to that, he worked on the HBO pilot, “40″, starring Adrian Pasdar, Michael Imperioli, Ed Burns, Micheal Rappaport. At CBS, he styled hair for A Gifted Man starring Patrick Wilson and Jennifer Holt. Aaron was an additional stylist for Greetings from Tim Buckley starring Penn Badgley.

Currently, Aaron is working as a Hair Supervisor at Mamma Mia! Broadway as the Hair Supervisor. Mamma Mia is ending is 14 year run this September after breaking box office records and gross over $500Million in ticket sales. Previously, Aaron was a Hair Swing at the hit Broadway Musical “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying” starring Daniel Radcliffe, Darren Criss, Nick Jonas, John Laroquette, Beau Bridges, and Michael Urie. Recent backstage experience includes Tony Winners Memphis: The Musical, American Idiot, Phantom of the Opera, and The Addams Family. In Fall of 2010, Aaron was on the hair crew at the Metropolitan Opera for the new production of Boris Gudonov which was transmitted live to theaters internationally on HD.

Between jobs, Aaron stays busy as a wigmaker and is developing a line of custom wigs and hairpieces for Runway, Brides, and Pageant competitors.
