Tyrel Knight was born in St George, Utah. Growing up he had a passion for the arts and participated in many local productions both on and behind the stage.

After graduating high school and dancing with Dixie State College Dance Company, he enrolled in Paul Mitchell - the school St George. Being a third generation hairdresser it came naturally, and soon was doing hair for local fashion shows and ...events. While in school Tyrel discovered his passion for the world of photography and began working with some of the top photographers in Utah.

Tyrel spent seven years working on and behind the stages of Tuachan Center for the Arts. Performer, wardrobe, make-up artist and wig dresser were just a few titles he carried in his time there. He worked on shows such as Les Miserables, Cats, Cinderella, the post-broadway regional premier of Tarzan, 42nd Street and many more.

After graduating from Paul Mitchell - the school St George, Tyrel worked at the school as a reservationist/personal assistant to the school's director. Six months later he was invited to audition for a job as a stylist at A Robert Cromeans Salon in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay. Soon he was living in Vegas doing hair for many different productions and events including the Latin Grammys, weddings, photoshoots, and even had the pleasure of working with Kathy Griffin for her comedy show at the Mandalay Bay.

Having the strong desire to be an instructor and pass on the passion for hairdressing he had discoverd, Tyrel returned to Paul Mitchell - the school St George to educate. Being an educator was one of the most rewarding and fulfilling careers of Tyrel's life. His passion was quickly recognized by the school's director, and owners placing him in a wide range of positions at the school. Theory Leader, Design Team Leader, Student Council Leader,CORE Leader, and finally promoting him to management as Education Leader.

While educating was so rewarding, Tyrel recognized his desire to return to salon life. So he packed up all his things and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he is continuing to expand his knowledge. Now working for Landis and AVEDA Lifestyle Salon, Tyrel is working hard to become a top stylist at the salon and show his leadership potential. Already reperesenting the salon as a stylist for both photo and runway work, Tyrel is excited to see what great adventure comes from his new salon family.
