About Me

I am Shade DuBois owner of Bombshell Factory. My company offers, makeup/hair and SFX as well as costume design and wardrobe styling for film, television and print. I have over 25 years in the business and love it as much as the day I started.

I trained under world-renown hairdressers such as Ted Gibson and makeup icons such as Sonia Kashuk and Fatima Olive. I worked and ran a salon for fifteen years before going free-lance and then forming my own company. I am a former educator called a " purefessional" (in Aveda speak) and I was one of fifty in the world as a hair color educator. We were the haircolor specialists who tested the first launch of Aveda haircolor. I was also an Aveda educator with a four state territory for teaching makeup to salon professionals. Ive always been a jack of all trades and a traveling gypsy making faces everywhere.

I started my second business , Bombshell Factory in Dallas Texas five years ago and have poured all my passion and years of experience in the art of makeup and hairstyling for your film or print projects success because I love a win-win in my business ventures. I employ interns who are starting a makeup career in film or print, as well as seasoned professionals in their areas of expertise. We partner with some of the top photographers in Dallas, LA and New York for actors headshots. We provide years of photography makeup skills for headshots and auditions that land the job. Additionally I teach makeup classes for actors as well as headshot, audition makeup and basic fx for acting schools.

Passion, creativity and professionalism are what myself and my team will bring to your next project to guarantee a success. I have a great team of people working for me who also have specialized departments such as, bodypainting, costume design and prop making. Film and print are definitely a collaborative team effort and we are a full house service with awards to back it up.

So, here is what you really need to know about me and the way I work. I am an artist and a female entrepreneur with an innovative perspective in the composition of make-up and art by being both an intuitive as well as technical artist. I visualize ideas quickly and easily translate them by walking the filmmakers through reference pictures, sketches or your storyboards in the production meeting. I consult with personal clients, actors and models if needed in person before the shoot or by creating a collaborative moodboard to make an exciting project come to life. If there is a challenge on set and crew comes to us for help and it happen, my motto is, "We will make it work". Its amazing how many really creative cool ideas that we invented in that moment of instant inspiration that we still use on other film sets. Again, its all a collaborative process of magic makers.

Lastly, my favorite quote, My favorite quote, " Follow your bliss and your success will be effortless" - Joseph Campbell.
