Laura Brook Texter began designing at the age of 10 and experimenting with ensembles. She fell into modeling at the age of 14, and put up with men with uniborws loudly discussing the non-photogenic quality of her nose and imperfect measurement of her hips, in order to learn more about design. She went on to study design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her greatest inspirations are music, poetry, and New York itself. She currently works at a costume shop as a buyer. "YesterDayNight" by Laura BrookTexter is line that crosses between ready-to-wear and couture. She experiments with unusual techniques and combinations of fabrics. Reflected in the "YesterDayNight" line is the juxtaposition between hard and soft, feminine and masculine. Laura Brook's designs do not fit into one specific category.
