About Me

Your face encompasses the beauty of the whole earth. Your lips, as red as ripening fruit, gently part as if in pain. It is the smile of a corpse. Now the hand of death touches life. The chain is forged that links the thousand families that are dead to the thousand generations to come.
- Edvard Munch

I don't know what to put here. I'm not going to soak up bandwidth with some narcissistic sales pitch. Either you like what I do, or you don't like what I do. All that I can say with confidence is that my style is frequently described as dark - but I hope not in some pedestrian way. And that I spend way too much time trying to make light perfect.

If you are considering working with me, please look closely at my portfolio and website to familiarize yourself with my style because this is the style we will be shooting. I feel the need to say this because I've had people surprise me in the studio and suddenly decide they want something else. I have a particular vision and style that I'm trying to develop and I'm not going to suddenly change that up.

I'm super easy to get along with, albeit shy and introverted. But I get over it once we start to work.

What I do:
- Conceptual work
- Vanitas inspired images
- Memento Mori inspired images
- Looks from history
- Portraits
- Esoterica
- Camp

What I don't do:
- Bikinis (there are thousands of other photographers for this.. Let them do it right)
- Girls with guns (or other dreadful cliches, blah.)
- Exploitive nudes (if you could use it on a porn site, I don't want anything to do with it)
- Weddings (ugh - I have not a romantic bone in my body and it will show in my work!)
- "Street" looks...Usually.. I can make exceptions for something cool.(But If I want to see
"street", I'll go for a walk)

I create my own prints. I mount my own images. I am working on a book. I write. I write a lot. I love Bukowski. When I TFP, I will give you a print if you want one (not just digital images).

"I am jealous of the portrait you have painted of me. Why should it keep what I must lose? Every moment that passes takes something from me and gives something to it. Oh, if it were only the other way! If the picture could change, and I could be always what I am now!"
- Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray

"William is so pro I felt like I was not doing my job to match the effort he was putting in with lighting. It is well worth it to take the time to get the lights right because the photos are amazing! I just danced with little direction and he shot. Easy going, easy to work with, absolutely can't wait to shoot with him again!" Read less
