I got asked why I'm doing photography?
Hmm that's a tough one.
Well, I can say I'm not doing it for rock star status I'm not even expecting my stuff to be published or even liked. It's not my career and I don't have a 'passion' for photography like most claim.
So, I guess I would have to explain it like this:
I have these ideas and images that are dark, twisted and haunting me. My brain is screaming for some creative release and maybe some space. In order to create this space and peace I need to exorcise these demons. I can't draw or paint and photography seemed like a great medium to help get these ideas out. Some are sublime while others are horrific, but all are questions, ideas, theories, fantasies and nightmares of outside influences on my existence.
I don't claim to be a photographer but would (maybe) consider myself a displaced artist.
My work is probably sloppy and needs tweaking and refinement (in photography standards) and I like to think that I'll never loose that mind set.
I don't mind if my work is not of public demand or publishing quality as I'd be happy enough to get to a point where I could exhibit a piece and see the reactions of people in person.

I guess I do photography, because I want to see what happens when I give it a go.

After some thought and discussion I've come to the decision that I'll be focusing on my own projects and concepts from now on.
I've concluded I'm not a photographer that's able to accommodate to collaborations at the moment and I would much rather state this now therefore allowing other and more willing photographers these creative opportunities.
There's a whole collective of local photographers who are willing and enthusiastic to do this, I however am not one of them.

*Please don't approach me to shoot you.
I'm not able or willing to accommodate to doing portfolio filler portraits or family album/'special moment' snaps. It's not an avenue that enthralls me and like I stated before there's many other photographers who can cater to that with passion and flair.
Having said that, If you genuinely would like to work with me on my concepts then keep an eye out for my public casting calls.
