I earned my BFA from the College of Visual Arts located in St. Paul, MN. in 1997. After graduating I began work as a catalog photographer and designer. My two biggest artistic accomplishments have been receiving signature artist status with the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, and having my work shown in American Artist magazine (Acrylic Highlights). A Critical element of my work is first-hand observation. In order to develop the skills necessary to communicate my ideas and to avoid the pitfalls of working only from photographs. I began sketching at life-drawing sessions around the Twin Cities. I never tire of working from life. The knowledge and understanding gained from a life-painting or photo session is invaluable to my development as an artist. When I'm not working I enjoying spending time outdoors with family and friends.

In 2002, I received the Rising Star of the Galaxy award from the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. In 2003, I was awarded Signature Artist Status with the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. In 2012 my painting Michelle with Vase was juried into the Oil Painters of America National Show.
