About Me

CURRENTLY:
Shooting aspiring models who are serious about modelling. It's a business, so this is always for pay. I like to work with them to produce Comp Cards and useful Porfolio pieces to promote their careers.

Photographing People who "Do/Perform" is another key part of my business. This includes dancers, gymnasts, body builders, athletes, musicians, actors et.al.

People Who Do are people who have devoted a substantial part of their life learning a skill. I endeavor to give them something memorable from this time in their life -- something they will share with future generations.

And lastly, I photograph for people who have an abiding interest in something - such as Musicians and Re-Enactors. I like to capture character and drama that reflects their devotion to their interest.

My photography is highly customized. I like to use the technical aspects of photography, lighting and Photoshop to create something artistic and engaging for the client.

I do a lot of retouching for myself and am open to doing it for others as well.

WANTING:
In addition to retail clients, I am always looking to work with Model Agencies, Advertising Agencies, and Corporate Creatives.

I like to shoot both In-Studio and On-Location. And, I am always interested in being a part of the early creative process.

I'm always on the look-out for really talented make-up artists, hair stylists and clothing stylists who are professional and easy to contact and schedule.

Set designers with a talent for making textured backgrounds are also of interest to me.

I'm tentatively interested in finding a few dependable people as occasional lighting/grip assistants.

HISTORY:
As a kid, I had stacks of technical magazines about composite photography. This was long before Photoshop and entailed cutting negatives and prints, over-lapping projected images, reshooting etc.

When Photoshop came along, it was like a dream come true.

I began my photography career doing commercial photography on-location of such things as people working with equipment at Pharmaceutical Packaging Plants and other variety of products (construction equipment, mining related products, etc.). I also did corporate headshots for various local companies.

At the time, my wife and I were also leading international photography tours and workshops to such places as Namibia, Portugal, Panama, the Yucatan and Iceland. Now that my wife has been accepted into an international travel stock agency, our travels no longer involve directing the tours ourselves.

But my real love has always been for more artistic applications of photography. I changed my business to a very people oriented style. I love to photograph dancers, fighters, athletes, re-enactors, etc.

Moving Forward
Bravo! allows me to put much more effort into crafting the lighting and post processing work.

While most of my work is currently retail oriented for individuals, I would very much like to collaborate on a larger scale -- expand into bigger production affairs with creative planning, and larger budgets that push the boundaries of creativity.
