I believe Inspiration is fuel for the creative mind of an artist. A person, object, theme, feeling, or anything that for no reason is a seemingly mystical, even predestined, divine assignment from a spiritual realm. I will completely stop and be consumed by Inspiration. Madness can even set in by starving not nurturing your artistry . I can not fight, ignore, or escape a truly realized concept and my need to give it life! My need to inseminate my soul and birth my next creation to keep my sanity. Van Gogh cut off his ear being consumed by his art and I can fully empathize with his overwhelming obsession. Once an idea has infected my thoughts, my brain will not be silenced until I willingly submit and satisfy the insatiable appetite to create. It can be crippling at times.
My concern is “Will you feel anything? Will you experience fear? love? hate? lust? disgust? Will you experience anything at all??” If not, then I have failed and abandoned you in a world that is emotionally empty. A world that is engorged with cell phones and screens full of emojis that portray dishonest feelings. Your disapproval is as much a compliment to me as your praise. As long as you felt something!
