Hi, I'm Ted and I'm a photographer in Austin, TX. Photography is a passion for me and I enjoy the art of imagery as way to relax and unwind. I especially like the challenge of new situations and venues.

My main area of focus has been live event photography primarily involving performances in musical theater. This has mainly been in support of local community theaters and musical events. My images have often been used for online and newspaper promotional material as well as for actor portfolios. I am always looking for new challenges in this type of photography. I always exclusively shoot these events in natural light so as to maintain the integrity of the artistic lighting designs. I shoot with only professional FX equipment and fast lenses.

As part of my event photography genre I also photograph live choral music performances. The most notable of these was in support of a choral and instrumental musical performance at Carnegie Hall where I was the archival photographer for the event. My work has been used for promotional material by the affiliated University. Natural light photography is also critical in these performances to avoid audience distractions caused by flash equipment.

I also shoot fashion and portraits. I enjoy the challenges in this area and the two-way partnership between model and photographer to create images that evoke the desired illusion and illicit emotion. I am interested in creative projects whether for portfolio or promotional use.

In addition to shooting I also do all of my own post processing work. All of the photos stay in house and are access controlled. I take model releases seriously and respect the needs of the performers and models. All photos are shot in raw to maintain high quality even in low light and at large sizes. All post processing is done on color calibrated equipment and prints are done at a high touch professional lab.

I'm always looking for new challenges and am willing to do TF work. If it is new or interesting and helps expand my portfolio I am more than happy to partner with a new or experienced model or actor. I will only pursue assignments that are mutually beneficial and go out of my way to give consideration to the client's career goals. I ask that a standard model release be signed up front to allow both of us to use the photos for personal and portfolio use. While I do view this as a partnership I do retain full copyright rights to the images. Commercial or for-profit use of images can be negotiated.
