My name is Sophia Petra, and I am a full time Make Up Artist based in Kingston upon Thames, South West London.

Trained at Delamar Academy, one of the leading schools in the UK for training in professional make-up design. Graduated with a Higher Education Certificate in Professional Make-up Design.

Training covered many areas of make-up and hair design:

- Fashion Make-up

- Fashion hair styling

- Basic and beautiful bridal make-up

- Creation and application of prosthetic pieces including bald caps

- Special effects make-up (bruises, cuts, burns, bullet and stab wounds etc...)

- Knotting and application of facial hair pieces

- Body painting

- Character work including ageing for high definition camera and theatre, and gender changes.

- Setting and styling of wigs from period to recent, including 1920's finger waves

- Studies in period make-up from period to recent

At the moment I am working my hardest to build up my portfolios in both fashion and special effects make-up. I am also looking for experience working in theatres and on film sets, as I enjoy working in many different fields of entertainment. I am also looking to build up my contacts list within the industry, working with both professionals and amateurs to gain as much experience as possible.

I am punctual, enthusiastic and always willing to help. I like to take in to account every member of a teams ideas, and respond well to constructive criticism.

My rates are negotiable depending on the nature of the project, but I do always ask for my travel to be covered if I am required to work outside of London zones 1-6. A standard rate for me would be £15.00 per hour for any make up, or £20.00 per hour for both make up and hair. I will only work on a Time for Print basis if i think the subject will hold a valuable place in my portfolio.
