A photographer (off and on) since 1987, I've seen photography change from a closed course with a shallow pool of professionals to the open ocean where anyone can swim. Currently I shoot arts and events in the greater New York City area, based out of Manhattan. My style of photography is Street/Editorial/Natural Life, which means I don't work out of a studio (It IS Manhattan!) but rather the great studio that is New York City. I strongly prefer to work with natural light, but know how to use off camera lighting to enhance and supplement what nature provides. I prefer to step outside of the formal bounds of portrait photography into environmental photography, letting the subject and the location set the tone for the work. I love shooting actors, dancers, musicians and other performers actually PERFORMING their work, rather than the sterile confines of the headshot genre.

Being honest, there are many, many photographers in New York City, all trying to make a living doing what they love. (Just like you, gentle reader, in whatever your endeavor may be!) I understand how hard it is to get by here, I would love to take your photographs for free, I really would. I, however, have rent to pay. That being said, I am willing to work with clients to give them the best possible services for the best possible price.
