About Me

I am The Legendary Pioneer DJ Queen MC Professor Eva Marie King, BA, MS, est. 1970 also professionally known Professor Shasia Mecca Muhammad, BA, MS, est. 1970.

I was born, Eva Marie Wilson on Wednesday, August 11, 1965 at 11:40 AM Eastern Time in the “Old Lincoln Hospital” in the South Bronx, New York City USA.

I spent my formative and early teenage years growing up in the African-American middle-class town of Jamaica Queens, New York City USA with my five adopted elder siblings (#StreetLegendCookie, #StreetLegendMickey, #StreetLegendPuttPutt, #StreetLegendPacer1 and #StreetLegendShakimAllah) and my adoptive parents (#QueenMotherBernieceLeeKing and #KingFatherTheodoreKing).

My adoptive parents were representatives for Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children http://www.spence-chapin.org from 1957-1965 and accepted seventeen (17) boarder babies in their home until the children were placed with a family for adoption. Of the seventeen (17) babies that my parents assisted in raising, they adopted six (6), I was the last child that my parents accepted in 1966. Spence-Chapin Services to Families and Children removed Cynthia (a white girl approximately three-years old) from the home and placed her with a white family sometime prior to my being born.

Years before my mother passing away from cardiac arrest in my arms in 1985, she informed me that a local well-known pediatrician, Dr. Hewlett pleaded with her to accept me, as I was very sick and malnourished with severe diaper rash. After my mother and father accepted me in the King family home in 1966 and began caring for me, my health greatly improved.

Several doctors told my mother that I would always be a special needs child and placed in Special Education classes in school. My mom informed me that she told the doctor, "Not my child," Upon entering school I was in honors classes and excelled in singing in the Glee Club, playing guitar and the alto saxophone. By third grade, I was reading on an 11th grade level and loved to write, play board games, shoot cee-low dice, play pool, swim, play basketball and softball.

At age 15, a house fire at my childhood home rendered my parent's dream home inhabitable. My parents purchased this home in 1959 and became proud homeowners in the first Black middle-class town in New York City USA.

The house fire took place on November 6, 1980 and I rescued my three-year-old nephew and 18-month-old niece from our living room which was inflamed and filled with thick black smoke. I also warned two of my elder sisters Cookie and Mickey, who safely escaped by climbing out of an upstairs window. I suffered from smoke inhalation, but saved the lives of my elder sisters, niece and nephew.

My mother who struggled with asthma, high blood pressure and heart failure was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Jamaica, Queens at the time of our house fire. Having been a single parent since 1972, upon recovering my mom moved the family to East Elmhurst, Queens, New York City, then South Ozone Park, Queens, New York City USA and finally SouthSide Jamaica, Queens, New York City USA where the King family still maintains a residence.

As of August 2015, I am conducting extensive research to pursue a law degree (Juris Doctorate) from Harvard Law School on the campus of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts USA and further expand my knowledge of corporate and entertainment law.

I was first exposed to the art form of two-turntable DJing on Saturday, January 29, 1973 by Robert Davis p/k/a The Genie a/k/a DJ Rob of "Bad Ass Disco" (B.A.D.). The Genie brought his two-turntables, amplifier and vinyl records to my home and DJed at my eldest sister Cookie's sweet sixteen birthday celebration on 118th Avenue in SouthSide Jamaica, Queens, New York City USA. This experience ultimately shaped my life and laid the foundation for my career as an advocate for B-Girls and Fly Girls. I also still currently enjoy careers as a Chief Media and Public Relations Specialist, Writer, Consultant and Community Leader.

I am professionally known as Rockaway's Finest, BA, MS, est. 1970 and affectionately referred to as “Sister Eva” throughout the international Mobile DJing, Jamming and Hip Hop Communities.

As a preteen and teenager, I spent many weekends and holidays from 1976 to 1983 at the Bronx, New York City USA home of my former Queens, New York City USA homegirl, Shirley Richardson p/k/a Spicy Shirl. Spicy lived with her family at 1460 Bronx River Avenue in the Bronx River Houses which is in the South Bronx, New York City USA.

Spicy and I attended many Zulu Nation sponsored "center jams‟ at the Bronx River Houses Community Center where we had good-clean fun and became part of the Hip Hop movement which is rooted in peace, love and unity. The most memorable jams for me were when Sharon "MC Sha-Rock" Jackson of the Funky Four Plus One More performed. Sharon "MC Sha-Rock" Jackson's performances had a profound effect on my career as a Hip Hop artist, as her devastating lyrical skills taught me how to be an exceptional unique female MC.

Lisa Lee's presence in the Zulu Nation had a powerful effect on me as a preteen even before I was aware of her devastating MCing skills, abilities and talent. Lisa Lee's presence as a founding member of the now referred to, Universal Zulu Nation taught me that I had the ability to be a spokeswoman for young women through rhyming and MCing.

I am the Sole Owner and Sole Founder and Chairwoman of “Children of the Most High God” Youth Organization International - SouthSide Jamaica (“CofMHGod” Y.O. Int’l - SouthSide Jamaica) and Rockaway's Finest Media International - SouthSide Jamaica (RF Media Int’l - SouthSide Jamaica); both companies are based in SouthSide Jamaica Queens, New York City USA.

These companies were formed in direct response to the elders call at the October 16, 1995 Million Man March Day of Absence and Holy Day of Atonement and Reconciliation for all to return to their communities and organize.

I am a Graffiti, MCing, DJing, Media and Public Relations Specialist/Writer and Consultant.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with concentrations in Radio, Television and Interpersonal Communications and a Master of Science in Communications Studies with concentrations in Public Relations and Corporate Video Production both from The College of New Rochelle

http://www.mercy.edu

Past careers for me include international banking, telecommunications sales, cable industry customers service, Internet service technician, Laboratory Technology, Phlebotomy, law enforcement, women and children advocacy and international education.

In March 2003, a high point in my career came when I volunteered to perform on a public relations team for the Harlem YMCA 33rd Annual National Salute to Black Achievers in Industry in which Oprah Winfrey was the keynote speaker.

A few of my internships include working as a Production Assistant at BronxNet Cable Community Television in the Bronx, NY in the summer of 2002. Another exciting internship was working as a Research and Production Assistant on the Connie Chung Tonight Show at CNN (Cable Network News) during the fall of 2002 in New York City.

In early 2004 I performed an internship at UpTop Entertainment, LLC and Recording Studios in West Trenton, New Jersey with “Roots, Culture, Reggae” Legend, Winston “Jah Pops” Phillips. My focus was creating electronic press kits, training artists to speak on camera and assisting aspiring dancehall reggae artists with business development.

Thursday, May 24, 2018 marked a milestone in my career as an advocate for women, children and families when I went to 6363 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, Los Angeles, California USA in search of Edwin "Phade" Sacasa and his now defunct Shirt Kings Academy.

Meeting Stylist and Salesman Extraordinare TK at the new establishment now owned by Hamed Jalaly aka C-Note and named "Rich & Rotten, Inc."

http://www.RichAndRotten.com inspired me to purchase $2,989,45 in clothing, hats and jewelry.

On May 26, 2018, I purchased an additional $654.50 in clothing and jewelry from Hamed Jalaly's "Rich & Rotten, Inc." Melrose flagship store located at 7454 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, California USA.

From this day forward for I will adhere to the Rich and Rotten motto to "Move With Aggression - Live With Ambition." After rocking my second Rich & Rotten outfit, I attest, as it is noted on my twenty (20) shopping bags, "Rich & Rotten" is - "Cut From A Different Cloth."

My formal training and career experience have proven to be vital assets in navigating my way through the world. However, the most important title that I hold is MC, as it embodies me the mother, surrogate mother, aunt, grand godmother, godmother, great-aunt, aunt, sister, surrogate sister, friend, mentor, businesswoman and entrepreneur.
