Good day,
I work with different models and photographers in Calgary to create or sometimes re create works of art. As for myself I am only learning how to use a camera, so for important shoots that I book I have professionals shoot the pictures and learn from what they do.
I have had sime amazing shots but I say luck was involved as well as talent. I do have an artistic eye and when I have an idea I fund the project and bring in the right people to make it happen. I make a practice of re hiring the right models and refering agents and midels to the wight people when they are good at what they do.
I have had the good fortune of being in front abd behind the camera, which enlightened me to what models experience with regards to shoots going long, whether they need to dress a certain way or have their hair done and the costs involved as well as finding places and other costs involved. Yes i have had the experience of actually losing money on a shoot or breaking even, therefore I try to account for that when quoting a price for a shoot and facroring in any unusual costs.
I do not wish to ever get in to editing and computer work as there are people with that equipment already what make a career out of that and are skilled at what they do. Plus, I learned on a 35mm camera before editing at home existed, therefore I still have he "get the perfect shot that needs no editing" mentality.
On ModelMayhem I hope to find other professional minded individuals that can make artistic and different shoots happen and do artwork that is creative, to advance my artistic skills and further models portfolios and experience as well.
