Like most girls, it was in middle school that I started to become aware of my body image and found myself struggling with my physical appearance. Although, I was always involved in sports; everything from soccer to track I tried it all, but didn’t see the results I was hoping for. Later, I incorporated kickboxing into my workout and did see my body change a little. However, it wasn’t until my 30’s that I began lifting weights and learning different ways to transform my body. I’ve spent my entire life doing some sort of physical activity, but didn’t feel the passion I feel while lifting. While I don’t see myself competing in the near future, my interest is sparked as people do ask if I compete often. What I do see myself doing is learning more and finding my niche in the fitness world. I hope to get into Fitness Modeling and actually just had my first photo shoot for my portfolio. For the first time in my life I feel 100% happy with my body and am proud of what I have already achieved. I am studying to be a personal trainer not only to gain the knowledge for myself, but to help others feel this same feeling of accomplishment and confidence I now have.
