My name is Ken and I am an Amateur photographer whose love is candid photography. While I've been shooting for many years I only really got serious about 3 years ago. My camera goes with me through long walks in the city catching people at their most natural. Through that approach I've developed an ability to anticipate people's reactions and capture the moment.
I've wanted to get into posed photography (natural light and studio) for some time. I'm a strobist fan and have been experimenting with and developed a real level of comfort with lighting, but I know there is a lot still to learn.
I'd like to work with people from Model Mayhem to experiment with lighting, locations, makeup, sets and genres. I will work with anyone so long as you are willing to add to the creative process.
I firmly believe the photographer must work with the model, makeup artist, set designer to discover the image.
In exchange for working with me I'll give you full res, edited digital files for you to use in your portfolio or personal website. I promise to devote as much time to developing your images as I would if I were being paid.
My philosophy is to get the shot in the camera but I am comfortable with Lightroom and Photoshop for final finishing and compositing.
Based in Burlington, Ontario, I'm available to shoot anywhere in the Golden Horseshoe and surrounding area. Since I'm still building my portfolio there's no thought of charging at this time.
I am also a writer and contemplate using some shoots developing covers for my books.
