My name is Sarah Hughes and I first learned to sew from my mother around age 10. The first pattern-made garment I made was a wrap-around skirt in a blue cotton gingham with a cat and dog pattern on it. But I had been making costumes for trolls and dolls for a long time before that. Throughout my high school career I would continue to delve deeper into sewing and design techniques. First just experimenting on my own, and later through 3 years of sewing classes at my high school. Sewing and design has remained an obsession for me, and is something I'm now expanding as a career.
