About Me

I'm new here, so I'm currently looking to do TF work to build my portfolio. Please read on and check out my work. Then contact me so we can set something up!

I'm primarily a hair stylist, but I have been venturing into photography as well.
It seems like a natural progression given my industry's need for imagery that convey the message in the hairstyling and the performance of the products. I started out taking pictures of my work as a hair stylist with a point and shoot, then an old hand-me-down DSLR. I decided that I wanted to take better photographs and shoot more than just hairstyles, so I started studying the work produced by experienced photographers; Everyone from the big names like Leibovitz and Avedon to the local photographers who share their work on Facebook. I figured out what I liked and what I didn't like, what was good and what wasn't, and I vowed to never be featured on youarenotaphotographer.com. I laid out small piles of cash for a proper camera, proper software and some proper strobes. I spent my free time reading online tutorials and trying out the techniques I learned. Then I set out to find people who would let me shoot them as part of my learning process. My portfolio shows what I have done since picking up a camera with purpose at the beginning of this year.
My formal bio from my Hair Stylist profile follows below:

Eric is a veteran hairdresser with nearly 20 years of experience behind the chair and working as an educator and artist for TIGI. “My career as hair stylist allows me to meet interesting people from all walks of life and use my creativity to not only make them beautiful on the outside, but feel good about themselves on the inside too. Doing hair is more than a job for me. It’s one of my passions, it’s my art and it’s a way for me to make a positive on impact people’s lives. People who look good, feel good! My forté is combining dimensional colour and haircuts to make my clients look their best. I do my best work when my client points me in a general direction and lets me take it from there.”

When Eric isn’t behind his chair in the salon, he’s traveling all over the world working as an educator and artist for TIGI, the makers of Bed Head. His role on the TIGI Talent team focuses on demonstrating TIGI copyright©olour and educating other hairdressers in how to use creative intelligence when colouring hair. In order to perform and teach the latest techniques in hair colouring, Eric regularly travels to the TIGI Academies in New York City, Dallas and London where he trains with and works alongside TIGI International Creative Directors. Eric brings what’s going on in the big cities back to Harrisburg to share it with his salon team and its clients.

Even when Eric isn’t actually doing hair, he’s still thinking about it! “Fashion and art inspires me. Hair and clothing are always in synch. Just walk down the street in New York City, flip through the pages of fashion magazines, and follow a few fashion blogs and you’ll see where the trends are going. I really enjoy editorial photography and creating looks that are camera ready.

Eric is always looking for models who are willing to experiment with their look for photographic projects and trade shows that promote his work as a colourist with TIGI.
He is available to help you prepare for your work with pre-shoot colouring and cutting as well as on-site styling.
