My principle styles had been travel related photography as my day job has taken me to 47 countries, often giving lectures world wide, and sports photography, particularly indoor volleyball, my former sport. My greatest satisfaction is getting a difficult shot after patiently waiting for the "moment", like a hummingbird or a sunset, so I formerly did less staged photography of people, and more candids, say of catching a person in public with an interesting look, pose, freezing them with their genuine look rather than a staged smile.

However, now I am exploring opportunities to photograph models in order to hone that skill set too. The attraction to me here is a way to have full control over the light, and thus the shadows too, to capture someones eyes or accentuate a jaw line. Here I have posted a few of my preliminary shots, mostly portraits, but I highly desire to expand beyond this beginning with your collaborative help. I enjoy a good challenge and constantly seek to learn more and do more.

Trained under the inventor of modern holography. Worked with laser fusion and have a PhD with optical devices. So, I know light, how to use light, detect light and how to manipulate light. Expanding this to photography and the use of shadows.

My father was an engineer and my mother an art teacher/artist. I am both. :-)
