About Me

Victor Peralta is a Katoomba based Artist and although new to the arts circles, Victor already has a large following with many of his works hanging in private collections. Victor’s inspiration comes from the old and modern masters such as Rembrandt and John Singer Sargent. Victor’s studio in the Blue Mountains is filled with works from previous exhibitions and pieces he refuses to sell.
In 2009 Victor entered the Amnesty International Art competition and his five (5) Portrait Piece entry was awarded the winning prize. In 2010 Victor’s Archibald entry, the portrait of Michael Smith – editor of Drum Media wIn first prize in The Real Refuses exhibition at the TAP Gallery Darlinghurst.
Late 2010 saw Victor exhibit his first solo show titled Exploration of the Feminine. The body of works included over 100 individual pieces with over half the collection selling within the first week of the show.

2011 saw Victor’s entry into the Archibald of controversial media personality Derryn Hinch make the print media across the state – page three of Sydney Morning Herald being a highlight in the coverage. Victor’s original piece (not entered into the Archibald) which was a coloured portrait of Derryn, now hangs in Derryn’s residence in Melbourne and the piece entered into the Archibald a large 3m double canvas now hangs in the residence of Chanel Hinch, Derryn’s wife.

Victor selected Mr Alan Finney – Chairman of the Australian Film Industry and recipient of the Order of Australia Medal for his 2012 Archibald entry. Victor has captured Mr Finney in traditional Shakespearean dress to represent Alan’s ties with the Australian Film and Theatre companies. Alan’s pet dogs are also represented, with Sebastian – the black Labrador – who passed away several years ago shown almost ghost like standing behind but close to Alan.

-- thats straight out of the web page so sorry for the 'third person' reference --

I'm looking for both female and male models for portrait painting, life drawing/sketching. There is some partial to full nudity required so models must be over 18. My current genre is quite classical but i'm seeking a change and am looking to change my style quite dramatically.
Tattooed, larger figured, thin figured etc... nobody type is excluded...
Unfortunatley as a starving artist i dont have an endless supply of dollars so payment will be minimal or TFP.
The modelling will be carried out at my studio at Katoomba which is safe, friendly and private. References are available on request.
Look forward to working with you.
