About Me

Richard Baranyai came from the afar, barbaric, Eastern European country of Hungary. Among other things, there he learnt how to use edgy steel things (sabers) just because that’s still something over there.

He started out as a graphics designer, had some exhibitions of his drawings and also found a camera (Praktica) which he’d put right down and continued to draw. Later, out from insanity, he bought a DSLR and started to play around with it.

He’d seen innumerable dance performances and pushed the shutter during them. He realized it is fun and people thought the pictures were worth an exhibition or two.

One night he was sitting at home, after the company he was working for went bankrupt, and thought, it's now or never - he should try it in America. So he grabbed all his savings moved to the US to chase his dreams.

He found a bunch of stuff here: new cameras, new techniques, a new love, cats (although he’s a dog person) and a quote from Robert Capa: "It's not enough to have talent, you also have to be Hungarian."

Ever since, he’s trying to show the world what a talented Hungarian can achieve.
