Artist's Bio
I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Moorhead State University, Moorhead MN, and presently reside in Minneapolis, MN. I've studied portraiture with an atelier-trained painter and have also studied Flemish-technique classical portraiture — both with artists in the Twin Cities area. I take my inspiration and passion from the classical old masters, and am particularly influenced by the Russian classical painters of the 19th century. I strive to capture the character, life, and spirit of my subjects, and consider a painting a success when the viewer begins to engage with the subject.

I specialize in portraiture, but also paint landscape en plein air, and still life. I have a studio in Northeast Minneapolis where I paint and teach portraiture classes and workshop intensives.
