Light and Composition are essential to any image that aspires to be beautiful and compelling. This is my mantra. With a Master of Fine Arts background, I always approach my work aesthetically. A picture first has to be attractive and simply look good. As a College Professor of Studio Art and an art history enthusiast, I know there must be a context and concept... a story to make a picture more than just a picture. What is the difference between a technical study and a true work of art? The click of the shutter is the same in either case but it is the eye, the mind and the heart that makes the difference. The eye perceives the light, the mind creates composition, and the heart imbues emotion. Whether I am shooting Beauty, Fashion, Editorial or Artistic work, this is how I approach every image I take.

I am open to test or trade with professional people.

I am also always scouting fine art models for hire which involves posing for the Figure Drawing classes I teach at local colleges at $20/hr. Experience preferred.


BIO
Eric Jiaju Lee earned his Master of Fine Arts degree at Hunter College and has based his practice in New York City for over the past two decades. Lee's studio is located in the vibrant art district of Bushwick, Brooklyn where he has been a part of the growth of the area since it's early beginnings. He also has worked in Beijing, China where he had established a studio practice in recent years. Lee exhibits regularly both locally and abroad, with works belonging to numerous private and corporate collections internationally (USA, UK, Canada, China, Germany, Philippines, Australia, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Dixon Advisory, China Springboard). The recipient of numerous awards and honors, Lee is a professor of fine arts, an independent curator and a guest lecturer at museums and institutions in the greater New York area. In addition to Photography, Lee works in various other media such as Painting, Drawing, Video and Sound.
