About Me

I am obsessed with photography, always looking for the perfect shot. The majority of my income comes from commercial work as well as weddings and high end portraiture. I just recently went completely digital, having sold the last of my dark room equipment. I still love to shoot in black and white though.

I received my formal education through the New York Institute of Photography. I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America.

I am on Model Mayhem to create art. My work has been sold in several galleries. I am here to find others that want to create art. I am always looking for models, make up artists, body painters, etc. that want to create art. My photo sessions are laid back and fun. I have many references upon request. The purpose of any of my photo shoots is to get a usable photograph. If a photo is taken, that can not be used because of copyright or model release issue, then what is the point?

I believe in being up front with all information so everyone is comfortable. That means there needs to be a clear understanding of what is expected. Regarding payment for photography, modeling, etc. here are my expectations:

If we do a TF shoot, everyone involved should get, and be able to use the photographs. That means that everyone must sign the appropriate release and everyone will get a copy of the photographs.

If a model is paying me, that means he/she is my customer. As a customer, they are paying me for my time and expertise. That means that the model will get the photographs as well as a full copyright release. I may ask for a model release, however the photos belong to the model. He/She has the right to deny my request.

If I pay a model, that means I am the customer. I am paying them for their time in front of the lens and their expertise. A model release must always be signed so that I may use them. As the model is selling their time to me, the photographs belong to me. That means the model may request a copyright release. However, I have the right to deny the request.

If you are interested in working with me, please send me a message. I am always open to meeting new people and discussing new theme ideas.

Best Wishes!

Doug
