I'm back after a 7 year break! Got married, kids, house, dog... you know, the whole thing. I'm just now starting to get some free time back, so I thought I'd start shooting again.

About me...

My friends just call me D. I've been a professional photographer, in one form or another, since 1999. But I've had a camera in my hand more often than not, it seams, since I was a kid.

My top 12 are always people I've worked with, so feel free to check up on me!

Do I pay models?

I pay models when I'm the one hiring them for a shoot that I'm being paid for. Please don't contact me asking me to do a shoot with you, then expect payment. You are more than welcome to contact me with something like this... "Hey Dustin, I like your work! I'd like to add you as a friend, so that I'm on your radar the next time you're looking for a model".

I don't do a lot of TF* these days but if you think we can both benefit by working with each other, please feel free to send me a message.

I do however try to leave one shoot open, each month, for new models needing help with their portfolio. I like the feeling of helping someone get started but unfortunately I can only do so much, so I apologize if I have to refer you to another photographer.

Escorts...

Escorts are a touchy subject within our industry and I can see both sides of the issue. As a photographer, it’s something that we don't like to have to worry about. For example, I tend to bring less and/or lesser expensive equipment to minimize the risk of theft. That means though that our options are more limited and the quality of the shoot may suffer as a result. But as I have friends that I care about in the modeling profession, I always advise they be very careful. So here's how I work...

Hopefully you've looked at my work, and done your part to try and verify I'm not Buffalo Bill or anything!

If you still feel you want an escort, I will allow it, only if it's the first time we've worked together. If after that you still need an escort working with me, then I haven't done my job making you feel comfortable, and we should just cut ties right then and there. I should point out that I have only had one shoot where the model has wanted an escort, and she and I have worked together a couple times since then.

Also, many times, I will have an assistant or MUA at the shoot with us.

            *Escorts are not within eyesight of the actual shoot.
            *They are not Boyfriends or hudbands.
            *They are Respectful, Trustworthy and Helpful!

Do's and Do Not's...

*Communication is key! I hate writing 10 page emails, so please let's communicate by phone once you've decided I'm not a jack ass!

*Being late isn't a world ending event for me, as long as I get a phone call or text letting me know what's up.

*Flaking on a shoot means you should NOT contact me again! A phone call respecting my time and energy saying "I just decided not to work with you" would make me respect you so much more! This hasn't really happened to me yet, but I figured I'd put the cart before the horse a little, on this one

*I don't give out untouched images! But I have never once had a model complain about how quickly or how many images I sent to her. Usually 4-8 finished images are given to the model within a week.

*Model releases are always signed and proof of ID is required!

*While I work in other genre's as well, such as Weddings, Family & Senior Portraits, Scenic, Wildlife and Sports Photography, I don't work with anyone under the age of 18 from this site.

What I look for in a model...
                 
This gets a little tricky, because I will work with different models for different reasons, but all in all I look for Honesty and Trust. I want someone to be blunt and honest with me about their boundries and limitations. All this goes so much smoother if we are on the same page. Either we want the same things and can make it happen, or we can't and go our seperate ways. No harm, no foul.
                 
Trust in me, may not be a very reasonable request if you don't know me, but none the less, its something I'd like. I have never done wrong by a model. Besides the fact that I'm a moral person, selfishly, I don't want a bad reputation! So I want my models to trust me when they are in front of my camera. Anything else looks forced or at the very least, lacks in confidence, which we all know is the sexy part of any person.

After all that, I love a model that has good control over her facial expressions.
