Born in Southern California, Brandon Robert Brown didn’t fall into the trappings of life in Laguna Beach. His entire life, Brandon has prided himself on people thinking he is kind above anything else. Making the decision to come out in high school, Brandon was never shy about being who he is and still laughs about football players that would come to him for advice about ways they could impress their girlfriends.
A self admitted foodie, Brandon put his love of the culinary arts to good use and trained to be a chef at Le Cordon Bleu. Combining flavor with nutrition is one of his true passions and creating dishes that please the palate and the waistline will always be a driving motivation for him in the kitchen. His easy going nature translates well to television audiences and Brandon hopes to bring more of his recipes to audiences throughout the country in the next few years. Despite his health conscious cooking, Brandon recently discovered the joy of Southern Cuisine and is determined to inject the flavors of the Gulf Coast into some of his dishes.
While Brandon’s own family was very accepting of their young, out son, Brandon knows that too many young men and women still have a difficult path to acceptance with their own families. He works towards being an accessible voice for their stories and tries to diligently answer those from throughout the country struggling with their own coming out process who reach out for his advise or words of encouragement.
Brandon is a very vocal activist in the fight for LGBT Marriage Equality. He has been on the ground in states where marriage referendums were on the ballot and looks forward to continuing that fight in the wake of the historic victories for Marriage Equality that came in 2013!
Based in Los Angeles, Brandon loves the chance to visit communities throughout the country and talk about the importance of standing up for equality and fighting for gay rights in America. He and his partner, Colby Melvin, founded Colbra Entertainment and are at work on several projects to expand the brand in 2014
