About Me

I'm very into creative portraits of all kinds and would love a chance to work with some other local beautiful women in the Monterey Bay Area. I'm very friendly, funny and easy to work with. I love exploring new styles of photography and would really love to collaborate styles, ideas, etc. with the model as well. I do not do studio work as I prefer outdoor shoots. I will gladly compensate you for your time or if you just want to spend a few hours trying many different shots for prints/files I will gladly do that as well. Don't be shy! If you would like to have a lot of fun and create some great images in the process contact me!

Martin M. Gilbert - 27/M

From the moment I could hold a camera in my hand, I was taking pictures. As a kid, I remember every trip I went on, and the most exciting thing for me was getting my disposable cameras. Of course at that time I had no idea what I was doing, but happily snapped away for years. It wasn’t until years later when I realized how expressive photography could be, as well as complex... I started out knowing nothing. I felt as if I saw the world differently through a camera lens, but had no way of getting the exposures I wanted. Frustrated by this, I went to borders bookstore and bought a guide to 35mm photography. I remember reading it over and over until I was sick of it. Luckily I picked a book that would give me the insight and the knowledge I needed to perfect my shots.

With the price of film and development so high, it was hard to explore the art of photography as much as I really wanted to. Many over and underexposures and sometimes laughably bad photographs helped me narrow down the proper ways to expose an image.

When digital imaging became somewhat affordable, my supportive parents bought me my first digital cameras. Going digital opened up a whole new world for me. Not only could I take as many pictures as I wanted without paying a penny, but I could explore the art of photography in depth, allowing me to become more skilled in the art.

After 15 years of refining my imagery, I’ve come to this point. There is still a lot for me to learn, but with the massive amount of practice and learning experiences I've gone through, I'm ready to show my photography to the world.

Photography is not a hobby to me, Photography is me.

It's the way I explore and share the world.
