Nathan Ernst is an artist living and working out of the Pacific Northwest. He’s mostly a self-taught artist who strives to further his artistic education by experimenting with and honing his craft. Nathan’s art is a contemporary realist in style. He largely works in watercolor and pencils. With his work, Nathan attempts to slow down the viewer. Insisting that the viewer stop, take a moment out of the fast paced world we live and focus on the art, taking in the story or dialogue being presented there. While Nathan's art often represents and idea or story in his pieces, its not necessary for the viewer to see that same story, in fact Nathan encourages the viewer to engage the work with his or her own background and ideas and gain their own interpretation from the piece.
