About Designer:

Hala Khalaf was influenced by a vastly multicultural background. As a child she delved into crafts and found herself drawn to natural textures. As her artistic abilities flourished she found her niche in Interior Design. She now possesses a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design but her focus has expanded light years beyond that!

About Shag Couture:

Hala has largely contributed her time to community service and in 2008 was given the opportunity by Donna Dowless to enter her first handmade art piece of her unique design. She was poised with the challenge of creating a functional or nonfunctional purse. At first thought, non function seemed advantageous but in the end function was achieved! This piece of art was unknowingly the beginning of shag couture!!!
