​Leanne Luce graduated from the Apparel Department at Rhode Island School of Design in the Spring of 2013. At RISD, she first spent two years in the Painting Department creating work that was centered around the female and the female body. During her time abroad in Rome, on the European Honor’s Program, her work changed from being Painting based to being Apparel based. With the creation of a pick-pocket proof collection, she realized an everyday functional object could be the verb, the problem solver. The work confronted issues of security, fear, and the body; and became her segue into Apparel Design.


Two things that humans do every day: we eat, and we get dressed. There is something privileged about being a part of someone’s everyday life. Leanne designs clothing for the everyday lives of everyday women...
