The thread that runs through the mission of my work is the exploration of normativity—what is normal, what is not, and why. Since I believe art must be a transformational experience to be effective, I combine enthusiasm, humor, and a willingness to deeply engage with subjects. I aim to create images that raise more questions than they answer and provoke the viewer to question her/his sense of normativity and, thereby, her/his sense of self.
